In the summer of 2008, I participated in a paid internship for the City of East Lansing with one other landscape architecture student intern. We were given the responsibility of site designing, implementing, and maintaining our annual and perennial flower beds throughout the city. We had full control of plant selection and integrated many of our plant design principles (border, accent, transition, filler, wall, etc.) which are principles used daily by landscape architects, but on a much smaller scale for our purposes. Below are a few samples of our work.
